The Hanok (traditional Korean-style house) village Jeongwa will hold its second lighting festival, and this year, it will be quite different. The festival that harmonizes the beauty of hanok with lights will provide a great opportunity for visitors to appreciate the beauty of Korea’s traditional architecture. This year, you can enjoy various types of jangseung (traditional Korean totem poles) and sotdae (tall poles that were built at the entrance of the village as a symbol of prayer for a good harvest). The festival officially begins on October 24, 2015 and the lighting festival will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of December. The festival is open to the public every day from Monday through Sunday in January and February 2016.
