The trees are getting greener every day. Today I would like to recommend a great date plan in Gyeonggi-do. There are numerous tourist destinations in the suburbs of Seoul, especially in Yangpyeong and Namyangju of Gyeonggi-do, including Dumulmeori and the Dasan Historic Site. In particular, Dumulmeori is one of the best destinations in Yangpyeong for couples. It is always crowded in all seasons. The Dumulmeori lotus leaf corn dog often appears on TV shows and has gone viral on social media lately. You have to wait in line to try a lotus leaf corn dog. The popular Dumulmeori lotus leaf corn dog is contributing to making Dumulmeori even more popular. Don’t forget to try a freshly fried crispy lotus leaf corn dog. In May, the queen of months, visit Semiwon Garden and the Dasan Historic Site near Yangsu-ri as well. I live in Gyeonggi-do, so I visit tourist destinations in Gyeonggi-do more than other regions. Whenever I search for tourist destinations in Gyeonggi-do, Dumulmeori comes up. No matter how many times I have visited before, I always find something new there. Dumulmeori is one of my favorite touring destinations.

It only took 12 minutes to drive from the Namyangju Dasan Historic Site to Dumulmeori. The parking lot was not crowded because it was a weekday. After parking, the first thing I did was find the lotus leaf corn dog shop. I would always be sure to eat a lotus leaf corn dog whenever I visited Dumulmeori. My husband always envied me. Finally, I could let my husband try the corn dog this time. We had to wait in line for a while even though it was a weekday. It was really popular. I always told my husband that he should try the lotus leaf corn dog in Dumulmeori. He said he would be willing to wait in line for it. We could finally have the corn dog after waiting for around 20 minutes.

After eating the corn dog, we started looking around Dumulmeori. A lot of people were taking photos under the tree with pink flowers. We went over to the tree. It was apple flowers. It was amazing that the flowers were hanging only on the lower part of the tree. The buds didn’t seem to come into bloom at all on the upper part of the tree, but flowers were in full bloom on the lower part. The branches were also hanging lower from their own weight, which made the tree even more beautiful. We unexpectedly got to see the beautiful apple flowers during our spring picnic in Dumulmeori.

Dumulmeori is popular for its sunsets as well as the sunrise. The Namhangang and Bukhangang Rivers join in this region, so it was named Dumulmeori. It is a popular filming site for soap operas and movies because of its peaceful and beautiful view. Dumulmeori of Yangpyeong was a thriving quay in the past. The village had once flourished. When around 40 households lived in the village, there were over 30 ships. It naturally decayed after the roads were built with the Paldang Dam. Dumulmeori played a role as a quay occasionally until the 1990s, but the quay does not operate at all today. A yellow hemp sailboat tells you that it was once a quay in the past, providing a great view :)

Dumulmeori of Yangpyeong makes a great weekend date.

Dumulmeori is becoming the landmark of Yangpyeong as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Gyeonggi-do. The 400-year-old zelkova trees play an important role. Three zelkova trees give wide shade in the summer and show beautiful fall foliage in autumn. The view of the zelkova trees, the boat, and Baemseom Islet is popular for the sunset and sunrise among photographers. This area appeared on a lot of old soap operas a long time ago. It still appears on many soap operas including My Only One. The area has now became a photo spot.

The Wish Rest Area is under the Wish Tree. According to a fairytale, a man called Grandfather Dodang came to make a wish on the zelkova. He was disappointed because the tree fell into the water. One day, another two new zelkova trees grew. Since then, it has been called the Dumulmeori Wish Tree, and people make a wish on the Wishing Tree. If you have a wish, make a wish on the tree. You have nothing to lose.

The trees are getting greener and greener. This is a great season to enjoy outdoor activities. If you visit Dumulmeori in the summer, spread a mat under the dawn redwoods. It is a perfect place to cool off, and you can get the best photo ever if you find the right angle :)

Dumulmeori is a beautiful tourist destination, selected as one of the 100 Must-visit Tourist Spots in Korea. Dumulmeori is crowded with photographers at sunrise and sunset and with tourists during the day. Many people from other cities want to visit Dumulmeori, which is well known as Hangang River Top Sight 1 Dumulgyeong and as a filming for numerous soap operas. Dumulmeori is a pure Korean word meaning a place where the heads of the Namhangang River and Bukhangang River join together. Its name has changed a lot over the years, including to Idusu, Yangsudu, and Byeongtan. Anyway it is clear that Dumulmeori has the best view of the rivers and mountains in Yangpyeong :)

I saw the TV entertainment program I Live Alone last week. In last week's episode, Hwang Min-hyun and his mother took a photo at the frame photo spot. Dumulmeori of Yangpyeong is a great family picnic spot as well as a good driving destination for couples. You should be sure to take a photo at the frame photo spot. The photo spot has become very popular now, so you will have to wait in line on weekends.

You will see the stone sign for the Namhangang River Quay while looking around Dumulmeori. Dumulmeori was the last quay of the waterway connecting Jeongseon-gun of Gangwon-do with the uppermost reaches of the Namhangang River, Danyang-gun in Chungbuk, Ttukseom Island in Seoul, and Mapo Quay in Seoul. Dumulmeori was one of the main roads connecting to Gwandong Street in the Joseon dynasty. Once Paldang Dam was constructed, overland routes were built and the current Dumulmeori was formed.

I’m looking forward to seeing the lotus flowers in Dumulmeori and Semiwon Garden in June. If you visit Dumulmeori, try a lotus leaf corn dog and take the best photo ever at the frame photo zone. It will be a great weekend date plan. Dumulmeori is beautiful at any time of year, but you can enjoy the best spring surrounded by green trees in May :)
