Are you looking for a good picnic place in Gyeonggi-do near Seoul? Do you want to go to a botanical garden or a cafe with a nice atmosphere? I recommend The GREEM in Yangpyeong. I went to Dumulmeori and The GREEM cafe in Yangpyeong last weekend. It was a weekend, so I saw a lot of couples enjoying a drive and families having a picnic. In The GREEM, photo spots for couples are set up among the beautiful flowers and trees. It is a great place to take the best photos ever. You can also enjoy a cup of coffee or another drink for free. It’s the best place for a picnic. I first came to this place 2 years ago to take some photos because I heard it was full of flowers and photo spots like a botanical garden. I was very impressed on my first visit. 2 years have passed since then. It was a great choice to visit The GREEM again because many places have changed and I could see the beautiful trees and flowers of May including royal azalea. I could refresh myself in the garden at The GREEM, which was a place more picturesque than an actual picture :)

Yangpyeong The GREEM near Seoul is a great cafe with a mini botanical garden, especially good for a gentle stroll. I parked my car and headed for The GREEM. The ticket office surrounded by a pine forest seemed cozy. I heard that a trail is supposed to be built behind the pine forest. I’m already looking forward to it. When I visited The GREEM in May, royal azalea greeted me. In June, climbing roses will welcome you at the entrance. The GREEM is a great place to relax among flowers and plants after looking around Semiwon Garden and Dumulmeori in summertime. Yangpyeong is one of the counties with a much wider range of tourist destinations than other regions. In particular, The GREEM with its mini botanical garden is a great place to enjoy a cup of tea among the flowers. As the advertisement says, "Just Leave, You Deserve It," you can enjoy a rest and relieve the fatigue of the week while taking beautiful photos.

This was my second visit after 2 years. The Greenhouse Garden was newly built near the ticket office and entrance. It is good to revisit a familiar place, since some things may change and you can enjoy new things. Entry is KRW 7,000 for adults, KRW 6,000 for Yangpyeong citizens, and KRW 5,000 for children. The GREEM provides one free coffee or drink for visitors as a thank you gift. After buying a ticket at the ticket office, you can exchange it for a drink at the cafe. In other words, entry is almost free. Entry fees are over KRW 10,000 for most arboretums in Gyeonggi-do. You can exchange your ticket for coffee or another drink at the cafe. The cafe is naturally one of the most crowded places in The GREEM. It was a weekend, so even more people came in the afternoon.

You can enjoy some tea or another drink here. The cafe also sells accessories. I looked around the accessory store for a while before our drinks were served. A variety of items for women such as accessories, bags, hats, and scarves are displayed here. You can buy one that you like. My husband bought a scarf and a hat for me here. I really needed these because I spend a lot of time outdoors. I was so happy to buy such beautiful items at a tourist destination :) I enjoyed shopping, and my husband paid for it... although that's not why I came with him. haha. I think I’ll wear this beautiful hat all summer. Young couples were buying pretty accessories for each other or looking for matching items :)

You can get a free beverage or coffee using your ticket. Just order some snacks and take a rest here. I ate a light brunch, so I had a craving for something sweet in the afternoon. A drink would not be enough for me. I ordered some sweet cake that was displayed in the showcase. The clerk said that the double-cheese strawberry cake, banana cake with whipped cream, Kahlúa macchiato cake, and honey butter with whipped cream were the most popular. We shared the cake and bread while chatting. My husband is generally busier with work on weekends. My husband and I had a long-awaited fun weekend date and had a chat with other friends. I had visited The GREEM before to take pictures, but it was the first visit for my husband and our friends. They kept saying how much they loved the place. I think I scored with my husband. The drinks here were recommended by Sulbing, and tasted the same as theirs. All of the beverages were delicious, but my favorite was the mango juice. I highly recommend it.

The lawn in the photo is the place where soap operas and commercials have been filmed the most. The European building behind the lawn is the Landscape Painting Building. The building that appeared often in soap operas is the owner couple’s residence. Although the building is not open, many visitors want to look inside it. I suppose they might open the building to visitors someday :)

You can see around 100,000 royal azaleas in spring, a carpet-like lawn, green sceneries, along with the water of the valley in summer, beautiful autumn leaves in fall, and a snowy scene in winter. Looking at the well-kept garden with an area of about 11,500㎡, you will feel like you are in Europe. You will see numerous beautiful spots to take photos. You will enjoy watercolor-like feminine sceneries here. (You can exchange your ticket for a free coffee or other drink in the Watercolor Building.)

There are many places for young couples. You can take some of the best photos ever in The GREEM. Even though everything is already going well with my husband, we took a photo in front of the banner saying “We Will Live Happily Ever After”. I always take photos for others. It feels awkward to be photographed, but it is a good memory now. A married couple who took a photo before us made some bold poses, making everyone laugh. All of the photo spots were filled of laughter. You can take some great photos using the variety of items provided :)

You can enjoy picturesque sceneries in The GREEM. The silhouettes of Jungmisan Mountain, Yumyeongsan Mountain, and Yongmunsan Mountain are spread out beautifully. I think that is why so many soap operas are filmed here.

The owner couple had maintained and decorated the garden of their vacation home for several years. They must have made efforts to open The GREEM to visitors. All of the visitors must be happy to see such a beautiful garden. One of the owners said that he is happy to be able to share their beautiful garden with other people. I totally agree him. No matter how wonderful your garden is, it is nothing if you see it alone. This botanical garden loved by numerous people is now selected as one of Yangpyeong’s 5 tourist destinations and marked on the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization’s Tourist Map. I was glad that I could enjoy my weekend of May, looking around at daisy, columbine, Siebold primrose, and daffodil in the garden on a sunny day.

The photo above is the Greenhouse Garden. You can see seasonal flowers all throughout the year. Above all, it is great that you can see beautiful flowers in the winter. It is amazing that you can see a beautiful garden whenever you visit The GREEM at any time of the year. You can enjoy the wonderful harmony of flowers and sculptures.
I recommend that you visit the beautiful garden of The GREEM and enjoy a cup of coffee after looking around at the lotus flowers in full bloom in the Semiwon Garden in June. It is not good if the parking lot is small no matter how good the tourist destination is, but fortunately the parking lot here is spacious :)
