With hot nights continuing every day lately, it was hard to stand the summer heat. Thankfully the last of the three hot days passed, and the weather has finally started cooling off in the morning and evening.
The weather forecast said that the summer heat would continue until the end of August. Why not visit a nearby valley stream in Gyeonggi-do and cool off by soaking your feet in the cool water?
I visited Gyeonggi-do Anyang Art Park Valley with my family last weekend.
It is easily accessible by public transportation, so you can enjoy the romance of a cool summer valley nearby.
As shown in the photo above, it was a beautiful valley with cool water flowing between wide boulders.

You can reach Anyang Art Park Valley by public transportation. Just get off at Gwanak Station (Line 1) and take bus number 5-2 for two stops.
If you drive, you can park at the public parking lot at the entrance to the valley. Parking costs up to KRW 11,000 for a day.
The Food Street is by the road. The street is lined with restaurants and convenience stores that you can easily access.
You can choose dishes from the wide range of different restaurant options. The prices were not expensive, which makes me like the valley even more.

The valley is enjoyed by many people as a summer vacation spot in Gyeonggi-do when the hot summer comes around.
You can't find any makeshift wooden-bench restaurants in this valley. The water peacefully flows through the valley, and nature is preserved intact.

I didn’t know that such a great family summer vacation spot was so close to Seoul. The valley with plenty of water looked refreshing.
If you go up a bit more, you can find quiet and shallow water for kids.
Kids wearing a rash guard and playing on tubes in the valley looked like they were having fun.
Grownups were cooling off from the heat by soaking their feet in the water, looking satisfied while watching their kids.

Further up were low benches and chairs facing the valley.
This is a good place to take a rest while enjoying the view of the cool valley.

The cool water was so clear that you could see through it.
I visited the valley last summer too, and the water has since become even cleaner than before.
I think the water cleared up by itself because it has been raining so much recently.
The water rose thanks to the rain, making it the perfect time for swimming.

The kids lost track of time while catching fish and insects in the grassy area, where they can learn about nature while playing.
I peacefully enjoyed a cup of iced coffee, soaking my feet in the shallow water.

Anyang Art Park, connected to Gwanansan Mountain Trail, is connected to the well-kept forest above.
If you go up more, you can see that the trail and the Anyang Public Art Project Art Park are connected to the hiking trail.
It is a good place for a family picnic and hiking.
