Finally, the hot summer season is almost over. We can finally feel that fall is just around the corner thanks to the cool breeze.
Fall is the best season to travel, so I want to visit numerous good places during the fall.
I once visited the Paju Majang Lake Suspension Bridge with my friends, and I could see why the bridge is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Paju.
The Paju Majang Lake Suspension Bridge crossing the lake is Korea’s longest suspension bridge, with a total length of 220 meters. I felt therapeutic just to gaze on its overwhelming length and the magnificent view.

Free admission and free parking
Entry and parking are free. However, there are a lot of visitors, so you may have difficulty finding a parking space on weekends.
Fortunately, we visited on a weekday. We parked at temporary parking lot #3 and walked to the bridge.

Parking at the temporary parking lot and walking to the bridge along the lake road was pretty nice too.
The entrance was not as far as I thought it would be.

We found more places to visit in Paju from the Paju Tourist Guide Map.
There are plenty of good tourist destinations because Paju is near Seoul and has well-preserved nature.

At the lake you can enjoy water recreation such as canoeing or kayaking or camp at the campground.
The surrounding scenery and mountains are beautiful, so it will be a special experience to spend a night at the campground away from everyday life.

Going up the well-established trail, you will find a café, a convenience store, and an observatory where you can look out over the panoramic view of Majang Lake.

Pope's Bread, a kind of garlic bread, is a popular local food.
I tried Pope’s Bread when I rode the Tongyeong Cable Car. It was delicious.

I found colorful wildflowers next to the handrails of the Haneul Stairs. The green grasses and flowers were refreshing.

The lake trail covers 3.3 kilometers. I recommend that those who don't want to cross the suspension bridge or those who are scared of heights take the trail below.
I looked down the lake from the trail. The lake and the reflection of the mountains on the water were so beautiful.

The Majang Lake Suspension Bridge across the entire lake is Korea’s longest suspension bridge. This 220-meter bridge with a width of 1.5 meters is well designed for safety.

Can you imagine this length? It was good exercise to go back and forth across the bridge.
For safety, access by strollers and wheelchairs is prohibited.

If you cross the bridge about halfway, you will come across the 18-meter-long bulletproof glass zone. You can see the clear water of Majang Lake glistening right beneath your feet.
People who were afraid of heights didn’t dare to walk on the glass.
Even though it is a suspension bridge, it is designed very firmly, so the bridge didn't shake much.
However, I could feel the bridge shake a little bit when the wind blew hard since the bridge was installed in the middle of the lake. It was a fun feeling.

I crossed the shaking bridge over the lake, enjoying the thrill. The view across the bridge was also beautiful, and I had a great time.
