Namhansanseong Fortress, a beautiful place with fall scenery in Gyeonggi

Namhansanseong Fortress maximizes defense by utilizing the mountain's rough terrain. It was a castle surrounded by a basin that is wide enough to build a city on top of a mountain. Moreover, it served as a place for the king and court to evacuate in case of an emergency during theJoseon Dynasty. It contains the evolution history of the military architecture from the 7th to 19th century and was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized as the only fortified city planned as a temporary capital. Its historical significance and architectural beauty are considered, but Namhansanseong Fortress is one of the top tourist attractions in Gyeonggi-do for autumn travel because of its beautiful scenery and colorful fall foliage that are in harmony, and the hiking trails and fortresses are well-preserved, making it a good place to enjoy walks in fall. There is a total of five trails to tour in this fortress. Among them, Course 1, the route from Sanseong Rotary, passing through the North Gate and Sueojangdae down to the South Gate, is the path that best shows the beauty of the fortress walls. If you go near Sueojangdae, you can see Gwanaksan Mountain and Bukhansan Mountain as well as the panoramic view beyond the curved fortress wall. For families with children, enjoying a light walk in the vicinity of Sanseong Rotary is better instead of going on a tour course. The autumn leaves around Namhansanseong Haenggung are beautiful, and the view of the ginkgo trees dyed in yellow is also spectacular when you go to Chimgwaejeong. Another advantage is the convenience of using public transportation and the various choices of restaurants you can visit.
