Murals Changing Their Look from Day to Night Yeoncheon LED Mural Village

There is a mural alley in Jeongok that looks like it is straight out of a fairy tale. The stunning murals along a short 100-meter-long alley, starting from the rear entrance of Jeongok Elementary School, make you feel as if you were in an art museum. The real charm of the Yeoncheon LED Mural Village lies in the LED lights that shine bright like stars at night. During the day, the reflectors and lights are hidden in the paintings like props that harmonize well with their surroundings. The “Girl on a Swing,” painted using a wall as a canvas, is an awe-inspiring work of art itself. You can also see witty murals cleverly positioned to make the most out of their surroundings. Visitors enjoy looking at a mural that depicts a mouse and a cat near the actual hole in the wall. At sunset, the LED lights automatically turn on, creating an atmosphere different from the friendly and fun vibe during the day. Trees with dry branches suddenly have glittering leaves, and streetlight-shaped props will light up. Depictions of the night in the murals shine even brighter than the day. Yeoncheon LED Mural Village, whose dark alleys used to be a place for crime, washed away its dark past and was reborn as a romantic, beautiful starlit tourist spot.
