An Exciting Bicycle Adventure from a Railroad Bridge to Dumulmeori Namhangang Bike Path from Namyangju to Yangpyeong

The Namhangang Bike Path is a 132 km course from Paldangdaegyo Bridge to Tangeumdae Overlook, Chungju. For beginner riders or those who simply want to travel, the gently sloped section between Joan-myeon, Namyangju, and Yangseo-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, is highly recommended. The point of departure can be at the Neungnae Station Bicycle Path Certification Center, where a bike rental stand is located. It only takes 30 minutes to travel from Neungnae Station to Yangsu Station through Bukhangang Railroad Bridge, so your journey will not be too challenging. The most fascinating feature of this section is the abandoned railroad of the Jungang Line. As you travel, the rusty railroad can easily become the highlight of your road trip. Thanks to the railroad that creates a unique atmosphere incomparable to any other bike paths across Korea, this section is often considered one of the best. While Neungnae Station is cozy, small, and beautiful, it is Bukhangang Railroad Bridge that has become the most famous landmark along this abandoned railroad of the Jungang Line. Moreover, this spot is widely known as a filming for the TV drama series Hotel del Luna starring IU, where it appeared as the Styx bridge. In reality, it is a bridge connecting Namyangju and Yangpyeong, and only bicycles and people can pass by. The scenery of this old iron bridge and Bukhangang River is so beautiful that visitors love to take a picture in the middle of the bridge.
There is no reason to only stick to the Namhangang Bike Path. The biggest advantage of the Namhangang Bike Path is that there are many other places to visit in its nearby areas. About 1 km from Neungnae Station, you can check out tourist destinations, the Historic Site of Jeong Yakyong, who is also known by his penname Dasan. Nearby spots feature his birth home called Yeoyudang, his tomb, and even the Museum of Silhak. Indoor facilities are closed while outdoor facilities are still available to the public. When at Yangseo-myeon, you might also want to check out Dumulmeori and Semiwon Garden. The best part of this area is the scenery of the beautiful mountains and Dumulmeori, where the Namhangang and Bukhangang Rivers meet. When you take a picture at this spot, you will find it like a painting. Visitors are to take note that the nearby Semiwon Garden is temporarily closed. Visitors can also find a bicycle rental stand (+82-70-4407-9991) at Neungnae Station.
