World Ceramic Center: Toya, Square, Art Shop
  • The World Ceramic Center, the main building of Cerapia, is the venue of the Korean International Ceramic Biennale, which is hosted on alternate, odd-numbered years. The Center has four large exhibition halls showcasing ceramic works by artists from home and abroad, as well as a residency and a workshop where promising artists can concentrate on their work.

The residency also offers advanced glass craft and ceramic craft classes to the public citizens four times a week (three hours per lesson).

  • The glass craft courses include fusing, slumping, lamp walking, and blowing, while the ceramic craft courses include spinning wheel molding, slip casting, and hand molding. In addition, special courses are available during summer & winter school holidays. For further details, please visit the website or call the Creation Workshop at +82-31-645-0648.

On the first floor of the World Ceramic Center is a ceramic art shop, Doseondang, which sells a variety of ceramic products including ceramic artworks fired in a kiln, small tools, accessories, and tableware, as well as exhibition catalogs and books on ceramics. Purchased items can also be delivered to shoppers’ homes/hotels for a modest shipping charge.
