Time Capsule is an old life experience museum located in Heyri Art Village, Paju. It is a modern history life museum that exhibits living goods and materials collected by an individual for the past 20 years. It showcases living materials that were used in Korea during the Joseon Dynasty, Japanese Occupation period, and until the 1980s. It is filled with various living props that remind visitors of their childhood days such as nickel silver pots, black and white TV, and platform desk. It is also ideal as an educational place for children to touch or put on the exhibited artifacts personally. At Exhibition Hall 1 (Modern life), visitors can see the people’s lifestyle during the 1960~70s. Visitors can have experiences of using a mortar, carrying a Korean A-frame, turning a millstone, and beating a smoothing stone. While turning a winnower, which was used to build a fire, visitors can try pounding a rice cake mallet. At Exhibition Hall 2 (Traditional life) where visitors can see the lifestyle of Korean ancestors, various living relics are being exhibited such as platform for crocks of sauces and condiments, traditional Korean socks, roughly braided bamboo hat, and bamboo bolster.
