Yongmunsa Temple, which is a branch temple of the Bongseonsa Temple (25th temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism), operates a temple-stay program. Steeped in natural and Buddhist environments, visitors learn how to be Buddhist practitioners and experience traditional Buddhist culture. The beginning of a temple-stay starts with worshipping sounds at dawn. Visitors eat simple food and learn to meditate, emptying their worldly mind and reaching mental tranquility. Visitors may enjoy walking in the forest and a cup of tea. Overall, during the temple-stay program, visitors are introduced to the guide of the Yongmunsa Temple, self-meditation, Buddhist worship, ringing of a temple bell, a cup of tea with monks, and Zen meditation. Visitors need to bring their own toiletries, pen and paper, hat, and sneakers or hiking boots. The temple distributes training clothes to visitors. Application for the program can be made on the temple’s homepage. After the program is over, visitors can download their photos from the temple's homepage.
