Rock-carved Bodhisattvas of Munsusan Mountain It is said that the name “Munsu” was derived from Munsusa Temple, which used to be located in the Munsusan Mountain. At present, only the site of the temple is left, along with the rock-carved Bodhisattvas (Gyeonggi-do Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 120), which were created simultaneously with the temple. The images are located at a place about 200 meters past Munsubong Peak. The images of Manjusri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva stand facing each other and are known to display benevolent smiles.
