Hwaunsa placing at the end of Myeokjjosan (mountain) is the right place to cultivate our mind in the nature. Hwa means 'shing' and Un means 'cloud', sa means a temple. So the name has the meaning of 'shining temple in the clouds'.

The temple has temple stay programs, and we can take educational training of Buddha. The Buddha statue wooden of the main building of the temple was designated as the intangible cultural asset number 200 of Gyeonggi-do province.
