The wine cellar is S. Korea’s only wine storage tunnel spanning 100 m (330 ft) long. Since the temperature here is 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit), aging of wine is done all year round.
The number engraved on the door handle of the entrance to the cellar, 1979, indicates the year wild grapes were first harvested here. The number is often found here and there in the farm as a reminder to go back to the basics and the passion of the early days.
Arranged inside the cellar are some 100 oak barrels and wine bottles. The barrels, shelves, and fixing devices are all made of wood, creating a mood reminiscent of overseas culture. The cellar storing premium wine for famed chefs and wine lovers is located at the deepest corner.
Outside of the cellar is an access to an experience hall, the left side of which is decorated with an impressive mural of a big angel pouring wine. The painting reflects the practice of calling wine with excellent aroma “angel’s tears,” endearing itself to visitors who love posing against its background.
