The DMZ, a neutral zone, has evolved to become the home of an untouched ecosystem. The DMZ is gaining great attention from all over the world as an international ecosystem conservation area and home to a variety of endangered species of plants and animals.

Dora Observatory & DMZ Tour Program
Dora Observatory & DMZ Tour Program
See the DMZ check points of North Korea, small villages nearby and even Gaeseong Special City from the Dora Observatory. It is the farthest area accessible by South Korean civilians and one of the most popular attractions for foreign tourists. Since the observatory is in the military zone near North Korea, visitors must sign up for the DMZ Tour Program to visit the observatory. Foreigners must carry their passports to participate in the program.

Jangdan Garden
Jangdan Garden uses fish and freshwater mitten crabs right from the Imjingang River and fresh home grown soybeans and vegetables. Best menu items include jangdankong tofu jeongsik (jangdan soybean tofu set menu) that is served with 5 different kinds of tofu dishes, ppaga chamge maeuntang (Spicy mitten crab stew) and chadolbagi ssambab jeongsik (beef brisket with rice leaf wraps set menu). Bacon tofu wraps, fried nurungji (scorched rice) and nurungjitang (scorched rice soup) that come with jangdankong tofu jeongsik (jangdan soybean tofu set menu) are especially popular. Jangdan Garden is both a "Good" and "Best" restaurant as designated by Paju-si.
