Yang ju Culture & Arts Center
Yang ju Culture & Arts Center is leased to those holding cultural events. Children’s films are shown every Tuesday and ordinary films are screened every second and fourth Saturday of each month. Special programs like puppet show or mime performance are held once every quarter. A stage play or a traditional open-air play is held once a year.
Opened in 1997, the center spans 46,280 m2. It has a large theater with 1,470 seats (including 10 for the disabled), which is also used as a gym. In addition, the center has a small theater with 355 seats (including 5 for the disabled), a conference room with 300 seats, an open-air performance space with 600 seats, and an exhibition room that keeps modern artworks and ceramic/porcelain items. An application for using a space in the center needs to be submitted at least 15 days in advance. If there is a change in the plan for using a space, the relevant application should be submitted at least 7 days in advance. The center may attach conditions in the issuance of a use permit as necessary to protect the facilities. A use permit may not be issued if the established social customs are likely to be impaired due to a program contained in an application, or if an attempt for the propaganda of a religion or the sale of specific goods is suspected.
