Gomo Reservoir began to be built on January 21, 1980 in order to prevent floods and to supply water for farming, and construction was completed on December 5, 1984.
The reservoir is located at the center of Jugyeopsan Mountain at an altitude of 600m on the east side of Soheul-eup. It has water storage capacity of / 1,300,000 tons and occupies an area of 55,000 pyeong (181,818m2). The irrigated area measures 534,000 pyeong (1,765,289m2) to seek all-weather agriculture. The reservoir is a perfect hiking course as a one-day course of a trip.
