[Free Urban Water Parks in the Hot Summer]

1. “Namyangju City Hwado Clean Water Center” – Escape the heat with a Piano

There are many families with kids playing at the water park of shallow water. And  a blue and green mountain to the background. visitors sets up their tants on either side of the water park as well.


Hwado Clean Water Center opened an eco-friendly public water park to turn its water purification plant’s negative image into an exciting summer tourist spot. You can see a 61m-high artificial Piano Waterfall and a unique Grand Piano-shaped Toilet building. This “Piano Waterfall Park” offers free admission in summer so it’s popular destination during weekends and holidays. The S-shaped Water Park equipped with the ground fountain and fountain tunnel has shallow water that is safe for children and infants to play in. And another water park around the Grand Piano-shaped Toilet is recommended to elementary school students for playing in the shade. Each water park at the center is designed for each age group with different water depth, providing a relaxation space where people can take a rest on their mats in the shade around the water park. It also has a walkway and a cafeteria.

2. “Water Park at Soyosan Children’s Park in Dongducheon” – A Large Water Park in Soyosan Mountain  

Kids are playing at the water park at Soyosan Children’s Park with little water slides and two large inflatable swimming pools.

 

The Water Park at Soyosan Children’s Park boasts of beautiful scenery surrounded by the green Soyosan Mountain. It is well-known among parents for its clean and well-maintained facilities, and its huge space that is twice the size of other urban water parks. It is composed of a variety of exciting water play facilities for children including water bomb, slides, mushroom-shaped fountain, and two large inflatable swimming pools. In particular, the lifeguard is always present, so parents feel at ease and take a rest in the shade while their children play safely in the park. 

The water park replaces the water every day and cleans the facilities often to provide clean and pleasant environment. The park operates for 50 minutes with a 10-minute break to maintain children’s normal body temperature and prohibits children from bringing toys and water guns into the park for safety reasons. It is also adjacent to the Children’s Museum of Northern Gyeonggido Province. Visitors can enjoy their waterside excursion in the morning and a museum tour in the afternoon to avoid the heat.

[Exotic Swimming Pools]

 

3. “Kumwon Tree Garden Pool in Gwangju” – Enjoy swimming with a BBQ party

Lots of family playing in the swimming pool and parents are teaching how to swim to their kids.

 

If you want a kind of something special to escape the heat, Kumwon Tree Garden Pool is the answer! It’s close to Gwangju city and surrounded by dense forest, so you can enjoy swimming with fresh grass scent. The swimming pool is divided into different pools - children’s pool, youth pool, and adults’ pool - for visitors’ safe swimming experience. It uses the clean underground water that maintains high quality since it uses its own purification facility, and it is cold enough to chase away the summer heat.
But it’s all about Camping. As the biggest advantage of this swimming pool, the Swimming Pool Shelter is the camping site where visitors can cook and enjoy BBQ party in the forest in a cool shade. Also, the Swimming Pool Shelter is right next to the swimming pool so is a perfect place to watch children playing in the water while preparing their food.

4. “Haeyeorim Village in Yeoju” – Pool Villa and Forest Swimming Pool

Kids are playing in the swimming pool surrounded by forest. It feels relaxed.

 

Located at the beautiful Bangchukgol Valley in Yeoju, Haeyeorim Village, whose name Haeyerim means a beautiful forest where the sun stays all day in Yeoju, makes visitors to relax their body and mind amid the serene natural environment.

Cheonyeonji Pond, which is Haeyeorim Village’s pride, can be reached by walking along the road on the right side of the visitors’ center. Beside this large pond covered with lotus plants is the pool villa-type pension “H-Pond.” Its well-decorated and spacious living room offers an open view of Cheonyeonji Pond through its large window. Also there is a terrace swimming pool that can be seen from inside the villa. Walking toward Haeyeorim Village Forest, you will see the Forest Swimming Pool, a quiet, independent pool in the forest.

5. “Island Castle in Uijeongbu” – A New Water Park in Uijeongbu

A picture of Tornado Tantrum and Tube Slide, and there are people just having finished the slide with delightful faces.

 

Opened in June 2018, the Island Castle has received a lot of attention from residents of the northern suburb of Seoul as a rising summer tourist attraction for 2018. It is composed of a hotel with 101 rooms, a water park consisting of indoor and outdoor facilities, and a condominium to be opened in 2019.

Water park visitors will enter the indoor water park zone first after passing through the locker and shower room. This large indoor water park with high ceiling has children’s spaces including an Adventure Play and a Kids Zone. The Healing Spa Zone using the natural sulfur hot spring water from 800 meters underground consists of bathe pool, various themed baths, and sauna.
The outdoor water park zone is full of exciting attractions such as Tornado Tantrum, Tube Slide, Speed Slide, Mountain Slide, and other thrilling facilities. It appeals to many people since they can enjoy these unusual rides without waiting in a queue. After having fun with the thrilling attractions, Visitors can relax lying on the sunbeds or just letting themselves floating on Torrent River of a slower flow.

6. “Sinbuk Resort Spring Fall in Pocheon” – Enjoy a Wave Pool in the mountain

Sinbuk Resort is a family-type theme park consisting of hot spring, water park, and sauna. It is also known for its hot spring water containing sodium bicarbonate from 600 meters underground in the northern part of Hangang River. Since it is clear and clean without any smell compared to other sulfur hot spring water, it is popular among men and women of all ages.

 

Above all, the main feature of the Sinbuk Resort is a Huge Outdoor Wave Pool where you can enjoy its rough wave amid the green woods. You can just play on a tube in the Lazy River Pool as well and there is a special zone for kids, the Water Island where children enjoy various water attractions including water slides. Its large indoor Bathe Pool, which was modeled after Germany’s Bade Haus, is a great place to relieve fatigue by enjoying body massage in the water pool and neck and shoulder massages with the neck shower and air bubble bath facilities. Or just relaxing in the spring water with temperatures of 30~34°C could be enough.
