Exploring Gyeonggi Province - Yeoncheon Trekking FAM Tour
Exploring Gyeonggi Province - Yeoncheon Trekking FAM Tour

***Exploring Gyeonggi Province - Yeoncheon Trekking FAM Tour*** posted by Williams Kyei Trekking Tour experience has been added to my list of adventures, thanks to Gyeonggi Tourism Organization’s GG Supporters Program. On Friday 6th November, we embarked on a trip to Yeoncheon, one of the famous tourist destinations in the Gyeonggi Province for a Trekking tour. Yeoncheon is located on North-East of the Korean peninsula and closer to the DMZ Border. With other students, we trekked a combined distance of 11km on the Yeoncheon Peace Nuri-gil and another camping site. It was quite a beautiful scenery as we hiked on the trails to Sunguijeon Shrine. The autumn leaves were still falling, they had turned brownish yellow. The next stop on our familiarization tour was a visit to the Herb Village. Led by a teacher, each one of us learned to make our own diffusers, with different kinds of preferred fragrance. I really enjoyed the walk, the photos, new friends and took home the diffuser I made, which is still aromatizing my room. The trekking course is recommended for anyone who loves hiking and short distance treks. Within 2 hours, you can travel from Seoul to Yeoncheon for such activities. You can try it in Summer also. #2015GGSupporters #GTO #TrekkingTour #FAMTour #GyeonggiProvince #TravelinKorea #Yeoncheon #KoreaDiary #VisitKorea   Click for the full story…

GG Supporters goes to Paju
GG Supporters goes to Paju

GG Supporters goes to Paju posted by Lynette Callanta Her stories on Facebook Never imagine Paju in Gyeonggi Province will be this beautiful. It was a short visit but I seriously enjoyed my time. Thanks to all my friends and managers for making this tour a successful and fascinating one. Will surely return to Paju in the future when I got time. (Pardon our Christmas-inspired outfit, red and green are colors of the day hahaha). This Paju trip itinerary was DMZ 3rd Tunnel and Dora Observatory Tour followed by a simple and healthy lunch at DMZ Jangdankong village (‪#‎DMZ장단콩마을‬). Then we moved to Sanmeoru for the wind grapes chocolate, soap, and jam-making experience program. Which was then followed by an hour tour to the Provence Village and lastly a very traditional Korean meal at Yetnalsigulbapsang which literally mean "Traditional Rural Food" (‪#‎옛날시골밥상‬) First destination: DMZ 3RD TUNNEL AND DORA OBSERVATORY (제3땅굴와 도라 전망대) The DMZ 3rd Tunnel was discovered in 1978 by South Korean forces. The third tunnel spans over 1635m in length, 2m in width, and 2m in height and is located 52km from Seoul. Approximately 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel per hour according to estimation. For visitors who wanted to see North Korea from a far DMZ tour to Dora Observatory is the right choice for you. It depends on the weather sometimes you can clearly see a part of North Korea sometimes not. (Note: you need to insert 500 Korean won to the provided telescope for you to see a part of North Korea.) Second Destination: SANMEORU (‪#‎산머루농원‬) For people who love wine, and grapes-related products then this place is for you. In this farm, visitors will be able to have their amazing winery tour, wild grape product making, and experience even wild grapes harvesting, activities everyone will surely love. Admission fee is really affordable, for only 3,000 Korean won per person visitor can be able to have a Sanmeoru winery tour including wine tasting or sampling. Additionally, visitors can also be able to visit the farm's very own underground ripening tunnel, product exhibition hall, and even do some experience or hands-on programs like chocolate making experience program, wine soap making experience program and wine jam making experience program. Getting there by public transportation is not a problem. It might be a bit complicated but it is worth getting there. From Munsan Subway Station (Gyeongui Jungang Line) turn right (north) out of the exit and walk about 600 m to the intersection. Cross the street and take bus 95 heading east from the bus stop on the next street over to the west (Munhyang-ro, 문향로). Ride it for 39 stops and get off at Jeokseong Terminal bus stop (적성터미널 정류장). It will take about one hour. Transfer to bus 091B and get off at Baewon-ri Budaeap Bus Stop (배원부대앞 정류장) (8 stops, about 20 min). Continue walking in the same direction and take your first right (south) after about 50 m. Then, walk about about 500 more meters and turn left at the four-way intersection. Sanmeoru Farm will be on your left after about 100 m. For more information feel free to visit their website available at www.sanmeoru.com Third Destination: PROVENCE VILLAGE (‪#‎프로방스마을‬) A french-inspired themed village that houses a delicious shabu-shabu restaurant, garden restaurant that offers mouth-watering grilled meat, a Provence Living Gallery artistically decorated with beautiful interior designs, an Herb Village surrounded by sweet and romantic fragrance, a Fashion Gallery, and a European bakery and cafes. *** Dumulmeori & Semiwon *** Posted by Williams Kyei Of all the touristic destinations in Korea, Dumulmeori is the only site where two rivers (Bukhan and Namhan) converge to form Korea’s iconic River ‘Hangang’ popularly known as 'Han River’.
