Fantastic Silver Grass Festival will be held under the theme of “Silver Grass. Wind… adds relaxation…” for 3 days from Oct. 13(Fri) to 15(Sun) in the vicinity of Myeongseongsan Mountain near Sanjeong Lake. Visitors will be amazed by the undulating scenic view of Silver Grass colony created by the wind against the background of the clear autumn sky.
A special event unique to this festival is “Red Mailbox” held on Myeongseongsan Mountain. After you write a letter and put it into the mailbox, your letter will be delivered one year later. Autumn sky, Silver Grass and Red Mailbox… have a memorable time.

#2. Anseong Cosmos Shepherd Festival
Anseong, where Korean tradition is still alive, is also famous for various flowers blossoming each season. Cosmos flowers, which symbolize autumn blossoms in Anseong, as well and pink flower petals move our mind.
In particular, the Cosmos Festival held in Anseong Farmland holds various events on expansive farm land for visitors to have a happy time. Board the tractor wagons, get off at Cottonwood Hill and have memorable time while enjoying refreshing wind.

At the “Everland Red & Grill Barbecue Festival,” which is held surrounded by primary color passionate rose flowers, you can enjoy the unique food of different countries around the world. In particular, the festival provides a glamping-style barbecue booth, caravan, camping tables and chairs, and visitors can enjoy a camping mood while surrounded by autumn scenery.

#4. Bongnyeongsa Temple Food Banquet (Oct. 13-14)
Most Korean temples are situated at the foot of mountains full of good energy. Monks practice self control with food prepared with natural ingredients. There are rules and laws to be followed while eating such food. It is also considered to be a way of training the mind and body.
Pristine Temple Food is as attractive as the temple’s long history. Bongnyeongsa Temple, which is located in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, is operating a temple food education center. The temple is considered the birthplace of Temple Food education. It holds Temple Food lectures every year, as well as various events to enjoy a Chuseok (equivalent to Thanksgiving) mood with visitors.

#5. Osan Doksanseong Cultural Festival (Oct. 13-15)
Doksanseong Fortress, located in Osan, is famous for a battle in which General Gwon Yul led 20,000 soldiers from Jeolla-do province to defeat the Japanese army stationed in Osan during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. The fortress is also famous for Semadae (command post) and nearby Bojeoksa Temple.
This historical place holds a traditional cultural festival every year. This festival will include a storytelling performance which re-enacts the news of General Gwon Yul’s victory through the participation of 250 Osan citizens, so many visitors have a high expectation.

#6. Gyeonggi Architecture Cultural Festival (Oct. 13-15)
The <2017 Gyeonggi Architectural Culture Festival>, where visitors can experience Gyeonggido’s excellent architectural culture, will be held at the Siheung Eco Center and Gyeonggi College of Science and Technology. It plans to operate an architectural culture award presentation, various exhibitions, performances, as well as education and experience-oriented activities. The events include Gyeonggido Architectural Culture award presentation, and an exhibition of public designs, outdoor advertisements and winning artworks of the Urban Architecture Photo Exhibition. The festival also offers experience-oriented events such as environmentally-friendly house building, traditional architecture experience, architecture cultural exploration, and Gyeonggi Student Architecture Drawing. Prof. Lee Kyu-in of Ajou University and Prof. Seo Hyun of Hanyang University will hold a seminar and special lecture under the theme of “Urban Regeneration and Environment-friendly Architecture” and “Who lives in cities?”.

#7. Korean Makgeolli Festival (Oct. 14-15)
This festival to be held in Goyang will offer free tasting of some 100 kinds of famous makgeolli (rice wine) nationwide, as well as various things to see and eat such as traditional cultural performance, popular singing performance and Nanta performance. It is a global festival to promote the excellence of Korean rice wine by sharing information on the features and effects of each rice wine type. Visitors can taste famous local makgeolli such as chestnut and yuzu makgeolli which are rare kinds of makgeolli, and they can feel the autumn season while enjoying various side dishes.

#8. Yangju Hoeamsa Temple Site Royal Family Festival (Oct. 14)
The 1st Yangju Hoeamsa Temple Site Royal Family Festival will be held at the King Taejo Yi Seong-gye Healing Camp in the vicinity of Hoeamsa temple site on Saturday, October 14. Hoeamsa temple site, which is situated in Hoeam-dong, Yangju, is famous as a place where King Taejo Yi Seong-gye, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty, led an ascetic life after giving up his throne. During the festival, a re-enactment of King Taejo Yi Seong-gye’s royal carriage procession will be held, and various things to see, such as a traditional martial art performance and a performance of the royal family stroll and food market, will be offered as well.

#9. Gyeonggi Dadok Dadok Festival (Oct. 14)
The “Running and Playing Library Festival” will be held on October 14 at the Yongin Arpia Sports Park. Various events such as sensibility doll play using pop-up books, a magic show reenacting scenes in children books and movies, and bubble shows will be offered. During the “Wanting to Meet” Program, writer Kim Botong, who is famous for the webtoon “Amanza,” will have a talk with teens through “The story of cartoonist Kim Botong,” which tells of teenagers’ unfortunate stories. In the afternoon at five, an event of “Do you hear the sweet book reading sound” will be held to spend time with “Seo Yool” who is famous for a dramatic reading concert. Visitors will be able to feel the mood of the autumn season more through book reading and music performance.

#10. The strange pumpkins world with Gukwha (Sep.30-Oct.22)
Yeoncheon holds ‘The strange pumpkins world with Gukwha’ festival and various ornamental 100 species are attracting travelers on the 3,000㎡ site in the historic site, Jeongok-ri. Flowers and blossomed pumpkins are ripe well, so they are displayed.
Also, it shows the beauty harmonized with chrysanthemum as well as huge pumpkins in the richness of the autumn. From Oct. 21 to Oct. 23, Local Agriculture Products Big Market is held and we can enjoy the late autumn with this festival.
