1. Korea Folk Village Joseon donghwa sillok (“Annals of Children’s Story of the Joseon Dynasty”) – Yongin

Visitors can go back to their childhood days through folk village characters who transform into the characters of traditional children’s stories.

The festival was presented for the first time last year, and it is gaining explosive popularity. The content of the festival is improved for everyone to enjoy, and the period of the festival is extended to one month.

Main Performance – Fusion courtyard play “Goblins’ Chatter” created based on Korean traditional children’s story

Instead of using the well-known original stories of traditional fairytales, the performance tells untold back stories in the form of courtyard play. Through chatters of goblins who have a lot of complaints about humans, the performance will provide a lot of fun and inspiration to viewers.

Six kinds of peculiar experiences – Become filial daughter Sim Cheong and jump into the waters of Indangsu

Become genuinely stubborn like the main character of Onggojipjeon

Brother and sister who became the Sun & Moon doll play – Decorated realistically by using a thatched house in Korea Folk Village as its background

Increased children’s attention by operating fairytale quizzes and activities of imitating characters’ movements

“A Fairy Land Passport” – Explore 6 thematic villages of traditional fairytales such as The Honest

Woodcutter and Heungbu & Nolbu; offer a souvenir for completing the stamp tour of collecting fairytales.

“Peculiar Book Café”- take a rest while reading books freely

Special discount event – If the name of a participant includes at least one letter of the name of the main character who has the longest name in the world, “Kim Su-han-mu-geobugi-wa-durumi-samcheon-gapja-dongbang-sak,” the participant gets up to 33% discount of a free pass and up to 48% discount if revisiting Korea Folk Village during the festival period.

2. Everland Blood City – Yongin

Experiences of various Halloween experiences and terror are offered through “Blood City” as well as the interesting “Boo Street” for family guests accompanied by children.

Blood City, which is located on a 100,000㎡ (30,000 pyeong) area, consists of alpine area and safari world and Amazon Express.

Story – A story of dispatching a team of professional investigators after a suspected rescue signal is detected from a city that has been closed for the past 10 years due to the spread of zombie virus

Experience – Visitors personally become an inspector team in Blood City and participate in the program of checking for surviving people and escaping

At the Madam Zombie Makeup Room located at the entrance, visitors can transform themselves into a zombie by wearing makeup assisted by a makeup professional

3. Asia Traditional Performing Arts Festival – Siheung

The Asia Traditional Performing Arts Festival is a “venue” where visitors can understand and experience the cultures of different countries through traditional performances and cultural exchanges between various countries in Asia via the medium of traditional feasts, which are the root of Asian culture. Asia’s cultural and aesthetic properties reflected on Hallyu have been formed through continuous communication with others.

– Performance stage: The Okguevent stage is where visitors can enjoy Korean traditional feast as well as Asia’s various traditional feasts. It is a creative feast stage focusing on creative performances. It consists of a clown stage where visitors can appreciate professional clowns’ talents and tricks and a wind garden where visitors can enjoy wooden doll and shadow plays.

– Experience-oriented performance stage: The performance is presented at the tightrope stage and Daedong stage. At the tightrope stage, visitors can enjoy exciting performances by a tight-rope clown led by tightrope intangible cultural heritage holder Kim Dae-gyun and even have a personal experience. At the Daedong stage, visitors can enjoy a large farmer’s music performed by more than 10 performers. It also has a space where visitors can experience different folk plays of various countries in Asia.

4. Siheung Gaetgol Festival – Siheung

The 12th Siheung Gaetgol Festival will be held from September 22 to 24 at Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park.

To protect the environment of Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park, this year’s festival will be held car- and trash-free. For visitors’ accessibility and convenience, shuttle buses will be operated. The buses will be operated every hour at 16 citizen centers and designated bus stops; at the temporary parking lot of Siheung City Hall, buses will be operated until 11 pm.

5. Nationwide Amateur Band Festival “We are the Band” – Gunpo

To amateur artists who dream of being in the spotlight and yearn for the appreciative roar of a big audience, festivals are a kind of practice room and a stage to meet the audience very closely and easily. They would sometimes feel tired from daily life or feel helpless because of their seemingly unfulfilled dream, but their precious passion is very much alive and breathing. After a passionate performance, amateur bands can take a rest as if breathing in the fresh air of a forest.

6. Gunpo Reading Festival – Gunpo

This festival is held under the theme “Book, connecting you and me” since various worlds and people are connected through books. The festival consists of six themes such as performance & event, academic seminar, exhibition & experience, book market & art market, experience booth, and recreation complex space.
