The trail of the Garden of Morning Calm in July is full of the blue light of Mountain Hydrangea flowers. As one walks along the dirt road shaded with larch trees, the habitat of Mountain Hydrangea flowers will make one forget about the summer heat. Appreciating the beautiful Hydrangea while breathing in clear air in nature will refresh your mind as well.
At the Rock Garden of the Hydrangea Exhibition site, visitors can see several Hydrangea species such as panicle hydrangea, bigleaf hydrangea, Oak leaf hydrangea, and Hydrangea macrophylla and learn about the story of Hydrangea. Hydrangea macrophylla with full leaves resembling snowflakes, Red cap, Annabelle, and Incrediball as well as Hydrangea colony whose leaves have a serrated edge – such as O-niji, Beni-yama, and Puri – look very exotic. In addition to Hydrangea, other plants decorating summertime beautifully, such as poppy flowers, cornel trees, and astilbe as well as peony brushes, provide beautiful scenery. We strongly recommend attending the Wednesday Gardening program through which you can feel joy while trying various flower arrangements.
