The Yongin Cultural Foundation is holding an “artist auction” as part of the “Yongin The We Festival,” a grand festival of Yongin Art & Culture, on August 2 at the plaza of Yongin City Hall for citizens to see artists’ cherished items. Vocalist Kim Dong-kyu, Korean traditional musician Song So-hee, and musical actress Lee Tae-won will participate in the auction.
Korean traditional musician Song So-hee donated the high-priced Korean costume that she wore during her performances on stage. She is studying at Dankook University in Yongin. Vocalist Kim Dong-kyu donated 4 autographed CDs of classical music. Musical actor Lee Tae-won, star of the musical The Last Empress, donated the jade hairpin that she wore during her performances in the musical. In addition, visitors will be able to see various other artworks by local artists of Yongin during the auction.
The proceeds of the auction will go to the scholarship for “Yongin Teens Art Kkum Dream,” a scholarship project operated by the Yongin Cultural Foundation.
