Gyeonggi-do Intangible Cultural Heritage Grand Festival
An open and annual festival held since 1999 to raise awareness and provide a hands-on experience of Korean traditional culture and its beauty. Visitors can see masters of craft – Gyeonggi-do’s intangible cultural assets – in action, making ceramics, drums, or metal artworks. They can also try the craft themselves. Traditional performances including Seungmu (Buddhist dance) and Salpuri (exorcism) are lined up as well. Moreover, visitors can purchase special souvenirs including lacquer spoons, lacquered tea cups, and small gamasot (cast-iron pots).
