The Garden of Morning Calm is holding the Rose of Sharon Festival from July 22 until the end of August. This is a good opportunity to see diverse shapes and colors of Rose of Sharon (also called hibiscus). Explanations are also given as to “how they came to be designated as the national flower of Korea” as well as “the origin of interesting names attached to different types of Rose of Sharon.” The hill filled with 150-plus types of Rose of Sharon creates a spectacular sight. There are more than 300 types of Rose of Sharon all over the world.
