Yangpyeong Kimjang Festival 2015

Yangpyeong is well known for its clear water in Korea; in particular, Sumi Village, which is famous for water and rice as well as various festivals all year round, received the Presidential Prize during the 2013 Korea Rural Village Awards, and it has been introduced through the media over 100 times. The Yangpyeong Kimjang Festival aims to promote Yangpyeong’s clear water and the excellent quality of agricultural products as well as Sumi Village as the heart of agricultural tourism in autumn. Held at Sumi Village for 37 days, the Kimjang Festival provides participants with an opportunity to make their kimchi easily using the cabbages, radishes, and red peppers cultivated in the village.
The Yangpyeong Kimjang Festival also provides diverse experience programs including Fish Hunt (catfish, eels), Sumi Steamed Bun Making, All-Terrain Vehicle Experience, Water Bike Experience, Visit to Reed Forest by Amphibious Carriage, Reed Forest Adventure by Raft, Aromatic Candle and Air Freshener Making, and so on.
