2015 Gyeonggi-do Multicultural Hanmadang Festival (“Hand in Hand”)
The Gyeonggi-do Multicultural Hanmadang Festival, which celebrates its 6th anniversary this year, is a venue for communications and communion with multicultural families and with 2,000 locals and foreigners. In particular, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Korea’s liberation from Japanese occupation as well as Korea’s division, the “Walk You DMZ” event will also be held covering the Peace Nuri Road, which is a crossroad for Korea’s unification, together with locals and foreigners. The festival consists of various programs for visitors to experience different cultures around the world, such as experiencing the world’s traditional musical instruments, folk plays and multicultural clothing, and talent contests, shooting water guns, and Hunminjeongeum (Korean alphabet) quiz contest. It also offers various events for family members to enjoy together, such as caricature drawing, face painting, and family love photo event.
