Paju Folk Festival
This year marks the 5th anniversary of the Paju Folk Festival, which is held at Imjingak near the DMZ. To commemorate the 70th anniversary of division of the country, this year’s festival will focus on peace and love, which are the spirit of folk music, and reconciliation between the two Koreas and peaceful unification of the country.
The country’s leading folk musicians will hold performances at this year’s event. They include Song Chang-sik (one of the country’s first-generation folk musicians), Yoon Do-hyun (PR ambassador of Paju-si), Jeon In-gwon (leader of a singing group ‘Deulgukhwa’), etc. This year’s event, which will be held at an open-air performance area that can accommodate 20,000 people, will focus on integration among generations of people and get-together of family members.
